Episode 70: Spider-Man – The Animated Series

We’ve done Batman, Hulk, X-Men, and now it’s time to web-sling back to the ‘90s to revisit an animated outing for Spider-Man.

This time, Morgan pens a podcast love letter to his childhood and adoration for the 1994 animated version of Peter Parker and his pals.

We look at the potentially murky history behind the epic theme tune creators, the bizarre censorship rules to protect children, and its utterly bonkers multiverse ending.

Episode 66: Wonder Woman

Long ago, when we were all free to roam the streets, we’d planned an episode to tie into the June 2020 release of Wonder Woman 1984

Since then, society has collapsed and that film has been postponed till August, but despite that, we still wanted to celebrate a cultural milestone.

Here, we explore the wonderful world of Wonder Woman, specifically the 1970s television series starring Lynda Carter. We tackle Diana’s somewhat strange flight plans, the show’s trio of awesome theme tunes, and how it tackled the sexism of the era.

Episode 41: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Tom takes Morgan through the ENTIRE history of the TMNT universe – the comics, the TV series, the movies, the merch and more. (In hindsight, maybe we should have just done the 1987 series!).

We discuss which Turtle is best, why Elias Koteas is so cool, whether Tom’s Winter Olympic Turtle was real or not, and just how weird the latest Splinter looks.

So grab a slice of pizza and settle down, it’s going to be an epic ride…

Episode 35: Flash Gordon

OK, we may have had an issue with our latest episode (ie, Tom forgot to record it properly), so that lost episode will be re-recorded in a few months time…

BUT, instead, here’s a brand new episode entirely, all about the history of one of America’s most beloved comic book characters, and its 1980 movie, Flash Gordon!

Tom and Morgan chat about the underrated hero that is Buster Crabbe, the best bits of Queen’s Flash soundtrack and why Ming the Merciless’ name is so perfect.

Episode 34: Batman – The Animated Series

To mark the 25th anniversary of DC cartoon Batman: The Animated Series, Morgan explains to Tom just why it is one of the greatest cartoon series ever made.

We delve into its influences and history, how it ended up influencing the DC universe forever, and why it was so badass, even today.

It also features exclusive interviews with Batman actor Kevin Conroy and Robin himself, Burt Ward.

Episode 32: The Incredible Hulk

The episode delves into the history of the TV show and its movie follow-ups, its catchy music and how it influenced subsequent films.

We also rank the live action Bruce Banners, boogie on down the disco version of the ‘Lonely Man Theme’ and get baffled by the awful theme to the 1966 cartoon series.

There’s also a clip of when Morgan chatted Hulk with Doctor Who and Jessica Jones star David Tennant.

Beer choice: Gamma Ray (for obvious reasons).

Episode 14: Bucky O’Hare and Biker Mice from Mars

Back to the world of kids TV this time, as Tom teaches Morgan all about two 1990s cartoons about kick-ass anthropomorphic gunslingers: Bucky O’Hare and the Biker Mice from Mars. Only in the 90s.

We wonder how we’ve never heard of Avenger Penguins, realise that StarFox is just a ripoff of Bucky and reminisce about fancying Gadget from Rescue Rangers.
